2010 Summer League

Play Ball,

It’s that time of the year again.  We would like to thank all the teams returning for the 2010 season as it promises to be exciting and fun.  You will find a large amount of information included with this letter and encourage everyone to review it to its fullest.  The website for the San Diego Elite Baseball League can be found at

Please take the time to review it. This site will solely be dictated to the league and its activities.  If you have a site for your team or organization we would like to establish a link to it.  This will help keep everyone up date with all the 2010 activities.  Each team is encouraged to get sponsorship’s for their team and as in the past we will continue to place those individuals that help support your organizations on the SDEBL site.

At the recent AABC Presidents Meeting, it was confirmed that San Diego County will continue as its own region for a second year. There are many benefits to being an AABC region, including that every SDEBL division we register with AABC will have a direct berth into a divisional Regional Tournament that leads directly to a divisional World Series.  To gain these berths the SDEBL is required to meet certain deadlines that will be established by the Southern California Baseball Association (SCABA) Executive Board of Directors.   As the Southern State Director I intend to adhere to the rules and regulations with the goal to set the highest standards for not only the AABC, but the entire San Diego County Elite Baseball League. Welcome aboard and prepare yourself for a great baseball experience.

As in the past the USABF will continue to be the mainstay for tournament baseball.  I would encourage teams to take advantage of as many tournaments as possible, as tournament play is important to team and player development.  No team should feel obligated to participate in USABF events. All SDEBL teams will receive a 10% discount on entry fees for all USABF events.  In addition to USABF there are many opportunities for tournament play with various other groups which is why the SDEBL affiliates with many.

Again I would like to wish each and every team the best of luck in the 2010 season, and remember you can’t win if you don’t play.  “See you on the field."

Timothy R. Halbig Sr,

President

The San Diego Elite Baseball League (SDEBL) is an ideal home for a traveling youth baseball team or club baseball team. The League offers playing venues in Central, East and Northern San Diego County, with competition taking place in four divisions - 18-Under Elite, Academy and 16-Under.  The Academy Division is open to teams that have players aged 17 and under with remaining high school eligibility.

The SDEBL was founded in 1999 as the San Diego County Palomino League. Originally the league played at the El Toyon Youth Baseball Facility in National City.

Today the SDEBL has grown to more than 30 teams and is affiliated with 5 national organizations: United States Amateur Baseball Federation (USABF), National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF), Continental Amateur Baseball Association (CABA) and Pony Baseball.  Every team entered in the SDEBL has a chance to participate in tournaments offered by any of these affiliates including a National Championship or World Series.

For more information on how to join the SDEBL please call (619) 934-2551.  The SDEBL would like to wish each team the best of luck in 2009 and remember

“You can’t win if you don’t play, See you on the Field”
